Clotrimazole topical is for use only on the skin.Wash your hands before and after using clotrimazole topical, unless you are using it to treat a hand infection.Clean and dry the affected area. Apply a small amount of the cream (usually twice daily) for 2 to 4 weeks.Do not cover the treated skin area unless your doctor tells you to. Avoid using bandages or dressings that do not allow air circulation. A light cotton-gauze dressing may be used to protect clothing.Use this medicine for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared.
